02Soft-tissue and orthopaedic surgery — including cruciate ligament repair. People bring their dogs from Porto for it.
03Imaging on site, the same day: radiography, ultrasound, and procedures such as urinary catheterisation when an animal cannot wait.
04When an animal needs to stay, it stays with us until it is ready — rescued street cats included.
05Bring the previous exams. We look again, and we follow chronic and neurological cases over months, not minutes.
06We speak English — the vets explain everything in English for visitors.

Ligament surgery on each leg, by Dr. Rodrigo and Dr. Susana. The owner drove from Porto to Sintra both times.

The right leg was operated here three years ago and came out perfect — you can't notice anything abnormal today. Today I'm back for the left.

The Clínica Veterinária de Sintra was started in 1995 by two vets at the beginning of their careers. Thirty-one years later it is still the two of them — with a team clients describe as “exceptional vets and nurses” — on the same street in Sintra.
Some clients have been coming for a quarter of a century: first with a Doberman called Boss, today with Bolton, a Yorkshire. Others come once, on holiday, with a dog that can't wait — and get it explained in English.
The facilities are humble. Nobody writes about the furniture. They write about being seen at once, about costs worked out together, and about leaving the consultation understanding what their animal has.
You can tell the mission isn't the money, it's the animals.

Open late on weekdays. On Fridays and Saturdays we close for lunch. If your animal can't wait, call first — during opening hours we make room.
We don't run a 24-hour service. On Sundays the clinic is closed.
